The Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center (GACTC) is seeking a welcoming, professional individual to serve as the Front Office Support/Receptionist. This individual will be the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors and must bring a courteous and service-oriented approach in all interactions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, answering phones, coordinating employee call-offs and coverage assignments, supporting administrative staff, and maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

This is a full-time, twelve-month a year position, paying $14.95/hour with full benefits. Regular hours are 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, with modified summer hours.

Responsibilities include aiding students, instructors, reinforcing lessons, assisting in student supervision, and serving as a teacher substitute. This is a part-time, 9-month position paying $13.20/hour.

The GACTC is seeking a dedicated and qualified School Police Officer (SPO) to join our team. The SPO is responsible for ensuring the safety, welfare, and security for students, staff, and visitors while maintaining a positive and supportive presence within the school community. This position ensures compliance with school policies, enforces laws, and fosters a safe learning environment. Acting as a liaison between the school and local law enforcement, the officer promotes trust and mutual respect while addressing potential threats, resolving conflicts, and supporting school emergency plans. The ideal candidate will have prior law enforcement experience, have a strong commitment to youth development, and work collaboratively with school administrators and local law enforcement.

The candidate must meet the requirements of a School Police Officer under PA law, must be a certified law enforcement officer in PA (Act 120), and have prior experience in law enforcement. Associate degree in Criminal Justice preferred.

Starting annual wage for this position is $48,000, plus full benefits.

This individual will work closely with the Assistant Principal, School Counselors, and Special Education staff to provide a supportive and welcoming environment for all students.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and will demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to quickly assess a situation to determine the appropriate level of urgency and support needed. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting students, supporting the planning and implementation of Student Services events, clerical support, managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

Candidates with prior experience in a school or clerical setting are encouraged to apply.

This is a full-time, 190-day per school year position, beginning Fall 2026, paying $15.40/hour with full benefits. Hours are 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
