The Computer Programming curriculum is structured to prepare students for entry-level employment or continuing education at the postsecondary level. Throughout this program, students will be introduced to many computer concepts including the following:  flowcharting, structured programming, Internet and games programming, information security, and database management.

GET THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO SHINE

Students will learn “hands-on” programming skills with languages such as: SQL, Visual Basic, Visual C#, Java, and more. First-year students receive a wide spectrum of general computer concepts that will build a solid foundation. In the remaining years, students will have access to many challenging projects. 

By learning the latest information technology skills, students can gain valuable experience and knowledge that prepares them for college and beyond. This program provides students with an opportunity to master skills that are in high demand in today’s competitive work environment. As information and data decisions impact every aspect of our daily lives, the digital economy continues to grow rapidly. 

STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO:

  • Be willing and able to learn required math skills
  • Be able to read and write at or near grade level
  • Develop logical and critical thinking skills
  • Be able to focus on tasks at hand
