Students of GACTC instructor Bill Doutt’s masonry program built and installed planters for the new sensory garden at Altoona Area High School. The GACTC students worked from designs and schematic drawings produced by AASD’s engineering and design students in a collaborative effort to create a new calming and welcoming space that stimulates “the sense of sight, smell, touch, taste and sound” at the high school.

As reported in the Altoona Mirror, “The garden also serves as a symbol of inclusion reminding them that every member of the community deserves opportunities to grow, learn and thrive.”

The GACTC is proud of our students and to be a part of our close-knit community.
