In June 2023, the GACTC celebrated the accomplishments of 22 postsecondary students that successfully completed career-training diploma programs ranging from automotive/diesel technology to welding. The GACTC recognized students graduating from the following diploma programs:

  • Automotive/Diesel Technology
  • Cabinetmaking/Finished Carpentry
  • Electrical Trades
  • Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning
  • Welding with Print Reading

Collectively, our 22 graduates:

  • Completed more than 19,200 training hours in these programs!
  • Earned over $190,221 in grant funding towards tuition!
  • Several students participated in an internship experience during the last term of the program.

Students had the opportunity to gain industry-valued certifications including:

  • American Welding Society GMAW 2W, FCAW 3G, and SMAW 3G
  • EPA 608 and 609
  • Ford Automotive Career Exploration
  • Gastite
  • NOCTI
  • North American Technician Excellence Core Certification
  • OSHA 10-hour
  • PA Vehicle Safety Inspector & Vehicle Emissions Certification
  • S/P2
  • Subaru U
  • Toyota Certification Program

Several students received additional recognition from local and regional employers. Ward Transport & Logistics and Stuckey Automotive Group provided awards to Destrie Smeal and Billal Mansour, graduates of the Automotive/Diesel Technology program. Through a donation from the American Welding Society, all graduates from the Welding program received an award. The following students were recognized for outstanding performance in their training program:

  • Destrie Smeal, Automotive/Diesel Technology

In August, graduates from our Practical Nursing, Expanded Function Dental Assistant, and Medical Assistant programs will be celebrated.
