As the reliance on technology continues to expand in offices, the role of the office professional has greatly evolved. The Administrative Office Specialist program prepares students to work in an office environment. The program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in commonly used office computer software applications as well as office management skills.
Software programs taught include Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher. Other topics include Electronic Communications, and Transcription, Office Procedures, Professionalism and Filing, Office Management, Accounting, and Business Math. GACTC is a registered Microsoft testing center, and students can maximize their employment and post-secondary opportunities by earning Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Quickbook certifications.
