The GACTC Practical Nursing program is proud to announce a 100% pass rate for the 2024-2025 reporting period for the national licensure exam (NCLEX-PN), completed by program graduates. Graduates that successfully passed the practical nursing licensure exam during the most recent reporting period did so on their first attempt, consistent with the pass rate of the 2024 graduating class!
This marks the second consecutive year the program has achieved a perfect pass rate, following the 100% pass rate of the prior year’s graduating class.
“Achieving a 100% pass rate two years in a row is an outstanding accomplishment,” said Julie Patosky, GACTC Continuing Education Coordinator. “This success is a reflection of our students’ dedication and the commitment of our faculty and staff in delivering high-quality, hands-on nursing education that prepares graduates to excel in today’s healthcare environment.”
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are in high demand across Central Pennsylvania and serve in diverse healthcare settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians’ offices, and community health organizations.
The GACTC Practical Nursing program is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Its NCLEX-PN pass rate exceeds the state’s required minimum of 80%, demonstrating the program’s consistent excellence in preparing students for licensure and professional success.
Graduates of the GACTC Practical Nursing program also earn IV Therapy Certification, expanding their clinical skills and employment opportunities.
Currently, 62 students are enrolled in the practical nursing program—full-time students who began in August 2025 and part-time students who began in September 2024. The next full-time class will begin in August 2026, the part-time class will begin in September 2026, and applications are now being accepted.
Since its establishment in 1970, the GACTC Practical Nursing program has served as a cornerstone of healthcare education in the region. The program is under the direction of Lisa Urban, RN, MSN.
