FT secondary teaching position beginning Fall 2026

The GACTC is seeking a passionate and qualified Welding Technology teacher to join our thriving program.

This position requires a minimum of four years of verifiable paid industry experience in the Welding Technology field; or a bachelor’s degree in welding with two years of verifiable industry experience; or four years full-time experience teaching post-secondary courses in welding. Preference will be given to those who possess related industry certifications. Pennsylvania teacher certification a plus; otherwise, college courses leading to certification will be required. As the Welding Technology teacher, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive instruction to students in the field of welding technology. You will develop and deliver curriculum, instruct students at varying skill levels, and assess their performance of skills. Your role will involve preparing students for future careers in the welding technology industry by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive instruction in welding technology, including lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments.
  • Provide instruction in a variety of areas as they relate to entry-level skills in welding technology.
  • Instruct students on the proper use of equipment and technology commonly used in welding technology settings.
  • Teach students essential skills, including the techniques, methods, and procedures particular to the areas of the welding technology field.
  • Incorporate hands-on learning experiences, simulations, and real-world case studies to enhance student understanding and application of welding technology concepts.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and empathy among students.
  • Assess student performance and provide timely feedback on assignments, projects, and assessments.
  • Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in welding technology practices.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy learning environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations related to welding technology practices.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
    • Minimum of 4 years of wage-earning experience in the occupational area to be taught
    • Minimum of 2 years of wage-earning experience in the occupational area to be taught AND a bachelor’s degree
    • Minimum of 4 years of full-time experience teaching postsecondary courses at an accredited institution of higher education in the occupational area to be taught
