FT secondary teaching position beginning Fall 2026.
The GACTC is seeking a passionate and qualified Service Occupations teacher to join our team. The Service Occupations program is intended for OVR-eligible students who have an interest and ability to obtain competitive employment. The teacher of this program will focus on culinary, hotel maintenance/housekeeping, and laundry services. Special Education certification preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive instruction, including lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments.
- Implement differentiated instruction and adaptations to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students
- Provide instruction in a variety of areas as they relate to entry-level skills in the service occupations field.
- Instruct students on the proper use of equipment and technology commonly used in the service occupation field.
- Teach students essential skills, including the techniques, methods, and procedures particular to the areas of the service occupations field.
- Incorporate hands-on learning experiences, simulations, and real-world case studies to enhance student understanding and application of concepts.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and empathy among students.
- Assess student performance and provide timely feedback on assignments, projects, and assessments.
- Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in service occupations practices.
- Ensure a safe and healthy learning environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations related to the program.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess a valid Pennsylvania teaching certification and be eligible/willing to obtain:
- Pennsylvania Special Education certification
- Pennsylvania Family & Consumer Sciences certification
