After graduating from the GACTC in 2007, Dan Pielmeier began building his career in the automotive industry. As a student in Mr. Dalby’s class, he stood out for his dedication and work ethic, earning induction into the National Honor Society and being named Senior of the Year. After graduating from the GACTC in 2011, Butch Bougher began building his career in the HVAC industry. Before enrolling, he worked in maintenance and wanted to expand his skills to advance his career. His time at the GACTC provided hands-on training, technical knowledge, and mentorship from Jeff Englert, which paved the way to his successful career. Following graduation, Butch joined the GACTC maintenance team, applying the skills he developed as a student to keep the facility running smoothly. Alumni Spotlight: Mike Sybert, Class of 2006 – Masonry

Mike graduated from the Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center (GACTC) in 2006 under the instruction of Bill Doutt. During his time at the CTC, he gained valuable on-the-job experience by assisting Bruce Ross, a fellow masonry alumnus with masonry projects. This hands-on training paved the way for a co-op position with Fabbri Masonry during the spring of his senior year. Jim Brown, President of J.R. Brown Construction, Inc., has built a career defined by craftsmanship, leadership, and dedication to his community. A 1985 graduate of the Carpentry program at the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center, Jim credits his time at GACTC for providing the foundation on which he built a successful and respected career in construction. After graduating, Jim founded J.R. Brown Construction, Inc. in 1989.
