Butch Bougher, HVAC

After graduating from the GACTC in 2011, Butch Bougher began building his career in the HVAC industry. Before enrolling, he worked in maintenance and wanted to expand his skills to advance his career. His time at the GACTC provided hands-on training, technical knowledge, and mentorship from Jeff Englert, which paved the way to his successful career.

Following graduation, Butch joined the GACTC maintenance team, applying the skills he developed as a student to keep the facility running smoothly. His dedication and expertise led to a promotion in 2016 to HVAC Technician, where he continued gaining experience and refining his craft.

In the fall of 2022, Butch returned to the HVAC program as Program Coordinator and Lead Instructor. Since then, he has been sharing his real-world experience with students, leading the same program that helped launch his career.

Now in his role as instructor and program leader, Butch takes pride in preparing the next generation of HVAC professionals. Returning to the GACTC has been a full-circle experience, allowing him to give back to the program and mentor students in the same way he was guided. His journey reflects the lasting impact of hands-on education, mentorship, and a commitment to skilled trades.
