The Automotive Technology Program is a competency-based program designed to follow the standards specified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). The program also includes other competency tasks based on the direct needs of local business and other community organizations. Students will receive training in all specialty areas described by NATEF to successfully complete the program.

Senior-year students will enroll in the Pennsylvania State Inspection Mechanic Certification Program. Juniors who meet a minimum set of standards and are accepted can choose to participate in the Automotive Youth Educational System (AYES) school-to-work program. The AYES program starts with the student in his or her junior year with job shadowing and a full-time paid internship in the summer between the junior year and the senior year. Automotive YES is a dynamic partnership among automotive manufacturers, participating local dealers and career & technical schools. Senior students will have the opportunity to enter the work experience program if all requirements are met.
