SECOND Reminder.... Attendance and completed projects make the majority of your grades..... if you haven't looked for awhile, I'd suggest checking Infinite Campus because there are some horendous grades out there.... and I'm meaning failing grades. It's time to get off the cellphones, YouTube, games and socializing to get some of these projects done.

Mr. Treese brought to my attention yesterday that he observed students purchasing drinks from the Adult Student vending machine. As he said, "It's against school policy."

Apparently, it's time again for me to remind you that "YouTube" is not part of our curriculum.
1. The school is experiencing terrible "slow-downs" with our network effecting our ability to enter grades and attendance.
2. In an effort to troubleshoot this issue, Administration is looking at network traffic.
3. As a result, this morning, AM Visual Arts students were challenged on their being on YouTube. For all I know, we may be next.
4. I'll remind you, that both you and your parents signed a technology form acknowledging that you would not be on sites prohibited by the school, and that if you were, it was grounds for being dropped from the program/school.
5. Additionally, since I am to enforce our rules, I will write referrals for detentions if and when I see a computer screen on YouTube and/or games.

4. Project is to be a minimum of 60 seconds long.
5. Create using iMove or Final Cut Pro.... Mr. Denny will demonstrate them in a day or so.

Please recognize that while I am out, that you must be even more conscious of school policy and class rules. Each person has their own workstation and software. To appear to be "on-task" you would be at your own computer with Adobe Illustrator launched and the pdf file opened at the material assigned.... It is difficult for a substitute to understand that anything other than that appears to be "not-on-task" and wasting time. Neither the sub or I want to make things more difficult for you. We just need to maintain control and oversee an environment where you individually are making progress toward completing assigned projects. If two people happen to be helping each other with understand instructions on an assignment and are trying to figure it out, be forth-right and tell the sub that that is what you need to do so that there is an understanding of what is taking place. Be considerate with each other. Excessive socializing is not easily understood by a sub. Sign out if you're headed to the restroom or student store. So that we don't experience any "issues" when I do return, I'm going to request that the substitute make a note of date, time and individual(s) name of any incidences that seem out of place. In addition, you will be advised to see Mr. Treese at that time to come to a resolution immediately. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation......
